The Laing House Masquerade Ball, now in its twelfth year, is one of the hottest parties in Halifax. Guests enjoy a fabulous night out with friends and colleagues, all in support of youth living with mental illness.
The Ball was launched in 2007. The idea came from a group of 15 community volunteers inspired to support Laing House and youth with mental illness. Each of the volunteers were touched in some way by mental illness and believed in the programs offered at Laing House. The common drive was to draw attention to mental health issues for young people.
That first Masquerade Ball raised nearly $220,000. Since then the event has now raised over 1.8 million!
Every dollar has supported youth living with mental illness and reflects the outstanding commitment of the event volunteer committee and donors who make it possible!
“It was an amazing night – it is so much bigger than just us.”
