The Laing House Masquerade Ball, now in its thirteenth year, is one of the hottest parties in Halifax. Guests enjoy a fabulous night with friends and colleagues, all in support of youth living with mental health challenges.
The Ball was launched in 2007. The idea came from a group of 15 community volunteers inspired to support Laing House and our programs and services.
Each of the volunteers were touched in some way by mental illness and believed in the Laing House model. The common drive was to draw attention to mental health recovery for young people living in Nova Scotia.
That first Masquerade Ball raised nearly $220,000 and since then the event has raised over 2 million dollars!
Every dollar raised reflects the outstanding commitment of both our donors and the event volunteer committee, both of which make it possible!
“It was an amazing night – it is so much bigger than just us.”
